When Ashley Williams steps on the basketball court fans can expect to be dazzled by her exceptional athletic skills and more times than not, she leads her team to victory.

At the beginning of the season, there was talk of Ashley breaking an all-time record. After earning all-tournament honors at the Lady Pirate Invitational in Greenville, N.C. in November, the senior forward moved into sec- ond place on the Jacksonville University’s (JU) all-time scoring list (1,097) and set the program record for career steals (116).

Ashley’s performance on the basketball court started raising eyebrows when she was in high school. During her senior year at Arlington Country Day High School, she led her team with an average of 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. As a junior at Wolfson High School, she led the Wolfpack to their third district championship with an average of 13.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.6 steals per gams. During her sophomore year, she won co-MVP honors. As a junior at JU, Ashley led the Dolphins with 114 free-throws; by the end of the season she had surpassed her own scoring record with 506 points for the year. She has done so well this season, that she has the potential to be named the best female basketball player in JU’s history. Don’t be surprised if she ends up in the WNBA.

Born November 18, 1986, Ashley is the daughter of David and Barbara Williams. She has one brother, Masai.
