Money Matters: Black Money Matters

Black Lives Matter is an international activist movement, originating in the black community to campaign against the violence and systemic racism toward black people; and the campaign has had some success. If that scenario rings true, is it not time to support the Black Money Matters movement? We already know how to do his because the organization exists and is growing traction. We know the rules of the game, we just are not playing it well.

Our generation is more educated and entrepreneurial than the parents who raised us—with the boldness of the past generation—who fought for the rights that we enjoy today. According to “Black Enterprise” magazine, 89 percent of African Americans between 25-34 years completed high school, compared to 77 percent of African American 55 and older. Twenty-one percent of African Americans 25-34 have an associate degree or higher versus 17 percent of those who are 55 and older.
